We were in the news today.

You may have heard on the news about a break-in at our Church in Irvine, Harvest Orange County.

There is not much I can tell you at this point except the following-
Two men who were thought to be armed broke into the Orange County Harvest church building last night. Police were notified and on the scene within minutes. After a brief search and standoff, the suspects were found in the building and apprehended. No one was injured in the process. There was no known motive for the break-in but there were some minor damages to the building. We are grateful to the Irvine police for their quick response. Church operations and services will continue on Thursday without interruption.

As it turns out, the suspects did not have real guns.

Harvest continues to work with local authorities to assess the motive and intention of these criminals. We are confident the situation is resolved, all our service and programs will continue as normal, but we are taking additional security precautions for the foreseeable future. We appreciate the extraordinary work of the local authorities and are thankful to God for the prayers and abundant support of our community. The fact that the situation was resolved so quickly attests to the professionalism of the Irvine Police Dept. and also to the safety we already had in place as a congregation.

When I find out more, I will let you know. I had a lot of people let me know that they were praying for me and my family and Church.

Thank you for that. We are all fine!

Here’s a link to a new story about it.

    Mr. Greg Laurie,
I think it’s superb that you read comments and letters written to you.
I know that you’re just a warrior of Christ like the rest of us. However You’re a respectable leader in Christ. I want to say things like you’re extraordinary, heroic, Batman helping save all cities aka all sinners. Thank you for bringing me to Christ in Jesus almighty- amen.
I hope you don’t think my intro was weird but I wanted to make you laugh a little.
Honestly I really don’t know if this letter will reach you but I am still going to share my story like with you. I recently started writing about my life and my coming to Christ. I feel Christ is putting in my heart, to share my traumatic life experiences of my molestation because there are so so many victims, And as a victim I know what’s it’s like to feel angry, violated, broken, silenced, unloved and distructive with thy self.

I was molested and raped at a very young age. This is a dark secret I have kept within me for many years and it has been eating me slowly. I have had my years of drugs, alcohol, promiscuity and suicidal thoughts even. I was molested and raped at 5 years of age, up until I was 7 years old. I come from a domestic abuse home. Drugs alcoholic, 5 siblings, 1 bedroom home 6 kids, single mother. My first numbers I learned were 911. I would call about the domestic abuse. God was with me. From a very young age, I would pray because I didn’t know what to do. Praise God I see now that he has always been with me throughout my journey. I am happy to share with you that I accepted Christ in Harvest Riverside 6 years ago today. And since God has used me to bring my Family to Christ all 9 of them at the Harvest Crusade. And my husband accepted Christ in Harvest Irvine. And we keep bringing people to Christ since. Again I know you are just doing what Gods godly work by bringing people to Christ. I just want you to know that I am thankful and blessed to have been reached by your message that day. My spirit responded to the Holy Spirit. My life has changed and I’m blessed to have a church, pastor and beautiful events near me. Thank you for the work that you do sir. My utmost respect and blessing to you, and the Laurie family and Harvest family.

My husband and I will be getting baptized and Pirates Cove September 9.
Along with my sister and her family.
It would be an honor and a wish come true if you could baptize us. But I know that’s is an out of this planet request.

Thank you pastor. God bless you and my Harvest family.

    Respectfully,
    Michelle

Grateful this turned out without injury and thank God for the great Police response. Many church’s need to have staff training and a trained security team to be up to speed on the current threats that can happen in this wild culture we are all in today. I know that HCF is on top of all this but other fellowships take note get prepared with the right info and a reputable security course so you know what to do when it happens.
