Lost Boy book signing at Barnes & Noble

This Sunday, I will be doing a book signing at a Barnes & Noble store for the first time ever.

This is kind of exciting for me to have my book in a large-scale outlet like this. But I have to admit, I also harbor this secret fear that no one will show up!

I can see myself sitting there waiting to sign a copy of Lost Boy and having people think I work there and I can tell them where the bathroom is in the store! Come to think of it, would you ask a guy who wrote a book called Lost Boy for directions?

So . . . I am hoping that a lot of you will show up for moral support! It’s all going to happen at 2:00 P.M. this Sunday, July 13. The Barnes & Noble is located at the Galleria at Tyler, 3485 Tyler Street, Riverside. For more information, you can call 951-358-0899.

The new 3g iPhone

I tried to get one yesterday, but the lines were too long!

Did any of you get one? Well, how is it?

One cool thing is a new Bible app you can put on the phone. Check it out!

Back to Upside-Down Living!

I am back in my series from the book of Acts that I am calling Upside-Down Living. My message this Sunday will be from Acts 9 on the very unexpected conversion of the notorious Saul of Tarsus.

Saul was one of the worst persecutors the Church had known up that point, hunting down followers of Jesus. One day, on the road to Damascus, the hunter became the hunted! And Saul met Jesus.

An amazing story from Nick Vujicic!

Nick Vujicic will be my special guest at all three Sunday morning services, when I will interview him. He will also speak Sunday night at Harvest for our Day 7 service.

You will be amazed and blessed by Nick’s unique and moving story of how he has been able to overcome the disability of having no limbs. For more info on Nick, check my previous post.

    Hi Greg,

I waited in line 4 hours at the Rancho Cucamonga Apple store on Friday (Release day) for the iPhone 3G. I got there at 4:00 p.m. and had one of the brand new babies in my hand at 8:00 p.m. It’s a really great upgrade. I had the first iPhone and this one does address a lot of the complaints I had with the first iPhone but my complaint remains that I would STILL like a video camera, picture messaging (MMS) without having to email the picture to someone else’s phone, ad copy/paste. Add those three functions to the iPhone and it’ll be the best phone out there. BTW, I was heavily considering the 16GB Black one when I saw the first pics on the Internet. But when I saw the white one in person, oh boy, it changed my mind immediately. Black is okay, but White is the way to go IMO (in my opinion). Internet is MUCH faster on the 3G and the soon-to-be-released TomTom GPS navigator app will make good use to the GPS chip the iPhone 3G now has. I’d say it’s a worthy upgrade especially for current iPhone users who are eligible for the $199/$299 price automatically. They’re kind of grandfathered in to getting the discounted price. Enough rambling, hope all is well. God Bless! PS I hope Flash is someday implemented so I can stream Harvest Sunday mornings on my iPhone. How groovy would that be!

I like your cartoonist side… Didn’t know you had one ’til I got to your site this evening. My wife and I used to listen to your radio messages regularly when we lived in Kansas City.

Congrats on the turnout! I once did a book signing in the little town we live in now. Signed three, as I recall . . . all for the same guy. Not all of us Christian cartoonists have an “anointing,” I guess . . . much to the dismay of my publisher.

    You have a great ministry.

    Great comic…as usual.

Nick has a great sense of humor and a great personality. He said a lot of great things in the short amount of time he spoke. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to meet him.

    Hey Greg,

Hope your book signing went well… I just wanted to tell you I just watched the Day 7 service and thank you for having Nick Vujicic on he was fantastic and it is such a testimony what God has done in his life and at the end when he was saying something to the effect that God hasn’t forgotten about you and I’m here to tell you that He loves you… It was like I could just feel that truth like God was looking at me through his eyes sounds strange but it was incredible. God bless you and your ministry.

Great turnout for the book signing! One of the employees said they hadn’t been this crowded since Christmas. You could tell who all your blog-buddies were—we were the ones who laughed about the directions to the restrooms! May our neighbors know that Jesus and those who love Him are alive and well in Riverside!

Speaking of your book Greg, I cannot find it. I looked in our church bookstore here in Downey and when the books were there, they sold out and went off the handle like hotcakes.

Can anyone tell me where else I can find the book? And will the book be sold at the crusade this year? 😀

  7. Greg says:

Suzie, thanks for your question about the “stickman.”

The significance? None that I can think of, except for some comic relief. They sometimes will punctuate the point I am making and other times they are just there for fun!

  8. Suzie says:

I love your little cartoons that you add to your postings but I really would like to ask, who are the little stick people on Batmans shoulder and on the back of your chair?

  9. Diane says:

Did you realize the Press-Enterprise Guide says you’ll be there at 2 pm? You might have a crowd waiting for you if you get there at 3!

about the iPhone 3G, my uncle waited in line at the Mission Viejo store at 5 a.m. and didn’t get his phone until 3:30 p.m., it’s crazy, I plan on getting mine tuesday, we’ll see.

  11. Yara says:

oh I will go see if I can stand in line long enough to get my book signed.
But first- I am going to the Harvest bookstore to buy a copy there.
    ; )
Glad you are doing this- it IS exciting!
    God bless you.

I for one will be there, and I’m sure many of your “blogging buddies” will be there for moral support as well! God has truly used your life story to lead others to Christ. How awesome is that? When someone totally commits themselves to the Lord,it definitely shows. God Bless you, and your family.
