Bald men always know first when it’s raining

Crazy weather these days here in Southern California. Seems like the weathermen never get it right. I think I can do just as good of a job looking out my window and determining what kind of day it will be just by looking for the obvious.

I do know of one sure way to know if it will rain: wash your car. It always works for me! 🙂

BTW, bald men always know first when it is raining! My wife and I will be walking along outside and I will say, “It’s starting to rain!” Her response is, “No, it isn’t!”

That’s because she has enough hair for two people. If I could somehow use the hair that is left over on her brush, it would be like a revival on my head!

But with no hair up there, you know right away when those little drops begin to fall.

Advantages to being bald

There are a couple of other advantages to being bald:

  • It takes us two minutes to dry our hair, if that. In contrast, it takes my wife a good hour!
  • You never get “helmet hair” or have a “bad hair day.” You always have “no hair days.”

Signs of the times

Coming back to the unpredictable weather, Jesus said, “You are good at reading the weather signs in the sky, but you can’t read the obvious signs of the times!” (Matthew 16:3 NLT). All around us are signs of the times that Jesus Christ is coming back again.

I will speaking on that topic tonight at Harvest, should you want to come or watch online. It will based on 1 Thessalonians 5 and the title of the message will be “How to Live as we Await the Lord’s Return.”

Lost Boy book signing

I will also be signing copies of my new autobiography, Lost Boy, after the service. If you are one of my “blogging buddies,” come by and let me know!

Thank you so much for doing a book signing at church tonight. I mentioned that I read it in “one sitting” and you said “it’s fast reading” it’s not that, it’s more that I couldn’t put it down! Thank you so much for opening your life to us, and taking the time to sign your book.
I was amazed reading so many other peoples stories, I too have a similar background as you do (my alcoholic mom is on her 5th failing marriage)… I was sent to live with my grandparents, and I even had a little black dog, her name was “buffy”.. I had her for 16 years 🙂
The Lord is so good to turn ALL things for good for those who love Him and are called according to his purpose!!

Greg! I have been so blessed over the years listening to you. You have done great work unto the Lord. Please help me out. I recognize the signs of the times and the most painful to me right now especially as a discerner and ‘one who watches’ is the apostasy. I’ve heard you mention it many times in your messages. My main concern right now is for Pastors. There seems to be a growing number of Pastors who are falling into great deception. Whether it’s promoting heresy like the Emergent Movement, or books like “The Shack” or even quoting from “The Message” as though it’s scripture! Help me to understand how these godly men are falling away into such great deception! I pray for my Pastor as well as other godly men I’ve “grown up with” in my relationship with Christ. It pains me to see this and it’s scary for us in the church body to confront these Pastors. It would be great if you could address this issue in a message or daily meditational or something similar so I can hear your answer to this epidemic. God bless you and your family at Harvest.
