Is There Life During Life?

“A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of” (John 10:10 THE MESSAGE).

Interest in life on Mars seems to run in cycles. As I write this, our nation has a new robot prowling around and digging little holes in the dirt near the Martian north pole.
A few years ago, when I was interviewed for an article about life on other planets, I said, “I don’t see anything in the Bible that would indicate there is life on other planets, but if there is, God created it.”

They closed the article with another of my statements: “Maybe we shouldn’t be so worried about life on other planets and ask ourselves the question, ‘Is there life on Earth, and are we living it the way God wants us to?’”

Is there life during life?

We often wonder if there is life after death. But is there life during life? That is a question we should all consider.

When I was 17, that was my question. I wasn’t so concerned with what happened beyond the grave, because I thought I would live a long, long time. My primary concern at that time was, “What’s life all about? What’s the purpose of life?” I knew in my heart that there had to be more than what I’d experienced to that point. I was desperately searching for some kind of meaning in life. I just had to know.

There are people still searching.

Thankfully, I didn’t have to look very far, because there was a group of very outspoken Christians on my high school campus. They practiced what they preached, and I was intrigued by them. So I began to watch them. I saw that they were experiencing a dimension of life that I had never known

Not long after that, I gave my life to Jesus and discovered the truth of Jesus’ great statement from John 10:10: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” That’s what I had been searching for: life during life.

Ask the Lord to point you toward someone today who may be searching for that very thing.

    Pastor Greg,

I have been thinking about Is There Life During Life, as well. I believe that if more people thought about that they would live their lives differently. I was just telling my daughter last night who being challenged, that she needs to have our Lord #1 in her life and pray, pray, pray and that is the first step to her life straightening out.
I look forward to Harvest this year, it is an overwellming experience to witness so many people come to Christ. That is the first step for people to Live Their Lives here and to store treasures in Heaven.

    Thank you Pastor Greg.

    God Bless you and yours,

I have asked the Lord to point me in the direction he would have me go and he has pointed me to you. I lost my husband of 18 years this past March and it has been so much harder than I expected. I am so lonely and depressed and can’t seem to get past it. I know he is with the Lord, he was a believer but selfessly I want him back so I can say all the things I wished I’d say and do everything better. I go to church and bible class. I am a believer but this has rocked my world.I love him so much but feel so separated without my husband. Please pray for my guidence and healing.

    Hey Pastor Greg,

I wanted to share with you how God used you and your radio ministry to change our lives. My husband had accepted Christ as his Savior as a boy, but he never had surrendered his life to Him. My husband was in carpentry at the time and the industry was slow. God used that time to draw my husband to Him and he was also mentored by our assistant pastor. My husband surrendered his life to Christ and got baptized. After that he went from listening to heavy metal at the job site to listening to you and other pastors on the radio. Travis would call me quite often after listening to you on the radio. He said he had been leaning across his saw horse sobbing in tears as God spoke to him through your messages. Super long story short; through your messages, Travis stepped up as the spiritual leader in our home and also accepted the call into full time ministry. After a couple years serving in our church we moved our family from Ohio to Dallas to go to Seminary with a heart for evangelism. We finished school a couple years ago and Travis’ lovingly shares the gospel and the hope we have in Christ with people God puts in his path and allows us to serve him in an evangelistic ministry using motor sports.

Thank you for being a Kingdom builder and allowing God to use you to change our lives! You are an incredible blessing to us!
