For Some, the Bible Is Offensive.

You may have heard about this.

The article is pretty self-explanatory. The reason we used this image of me holding a Bible was a bit of a throwback to the old photos of Billy Graham (a personal hero and friend) holding his up while saying, “The Bible says . . . !”

If you look closely at the book I am holding up, it does not say “Bible.” There is no cross on it. Yet, the image of someone holding a book up is now offensive to some. (It is indeed a Bible.)

We enjoyed working with the Irvine Company and displaying our banners in their amazing malls. I hope to work with them again in the future.

Everybody needs to just relax a little bit. I see images on billboards and displays in stores that I find offensive all the time. I do not complain or boycott. I just think as Christians we ought to have “equal time” and a voice in the marketplace.

Why are people so frightened of the Bible?

Think of the words of George Washington, “It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible,” and President Abraham Lincoln’s thoughts on the Bible: “In regards to this great Book, I have but to say it is the best gift God has given to man. All the good the Savior gave to the world was communicated through this Book. But for it we could not know right from wrong. All things most desirable for man’s welfare, here and hereafter, are found portrayed in it.”

So, we have gone from that to not even being allowed to show a Bible?

In case you have never heard of the SoCal Harvest (that’s what this ad is promoting), it’s a large-scale event designed to bring the good news of who Jesus Christ is to people in our culture today. We have been holding these events for 29 years now.

I’m told that the SoCal Harvest is the longest-running large-scale evangelistic event in American history. Over the years, we have seen so many lives transformed. Over 500,000 people have made professions of faith at the SoCal Harvest as well—families put back together, suicidal people finding hope and purpose, others addicted to drugs and/or alcohol finding a whole new life.

The SoCal Harvest has also raised thousands of dollars for missions to homeless people in California. This year, we are going to help impoverished children in Ecuador though Compassion International. This is a vibrant, happy, life-changing event that is all about Jesus!

I hope you will join us live or watch online. To find out more, go to socal.harvest.org.

    On a bright side…

I have never heard of you, or your ministry. I’ve recently come back to the bible [was born and raised catholic, so I felt I had to leave the church to find some of my own answers – as things did not add up, or make sense to me]. I read the bible as a teen, but was young, naive and mostly on my own. I became agnostic – an explorer searching for answers. Now, at almost 55 years old, my search has lead me back to the bible; And with a MUCH better understanding of life [and the catholic church, and why I was so confused]. I feel as if I have many years of catching up to do. I began with just a KJV of the bible, then discovered Dr. Vernon McGee’s ‘Through the Bible’ [which I have found VERY helpful], along with so many youtubers who share their biblical insight. And now, I have discovered you! I look forward to hearing and reading what you have to say.

    Thank-you!! And God bless you!

Very encouraging! God is still at work drawing the lost to the Cross and changing lives. It troubles me to see how people of our day are so proud and so prone to stand with the forces of evil and undermine the work of the gospel. Do they realize the consequences of their actions? Thwarting God’s plan and compromising with the workers of iniquity is a dangerous path to take. There is a payday someday. It seems like in these last days the enemy is working overtime to accomplish his diabolical agenda. Thank the Lord there is an appointed day of reckoning for him and even in the midst of these challenges we can claim the victory that is in Jesus Christ. The other day I went to a local bank here in Canada to conduct some business and make an inquiry. When I entered through the glass doors, the first thing that caught my attention was the very evident support that this major banking system was giving to the LGBTQ and their gay pride endeavours. A long banner displaying the rainbow colors was used to decorate the clerks counter. And another one had been positioned prominently in another area of the bank. The TV monitor on the wall was also delivering a message promoting the Gay Pride parade in Vancouver that was headed up by our very inclusive Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. It was not only shocking but depressing. I registered my displeasure and opposition with the cashier and asked her to convey it on to the managerial staff. I went to our other bank and shared my concerns with the manager there. These of course are just more indicators that the end is near, that Christ is returning for His Bride and that judgment is on its way for this wicked world. Oh that mankind would repent and reach out to the Savior! We thank God for those who are faithful in publishing the good news and bold to proclaim it without apology. Keep on keeping on until we hear the trumpet sound!

You are so right, nothing can stop a believer from Jesus Christ our Lord. It was Pastor Greg Laurie who changed my life, I love to listen to him apply every day life to the Bible.Right I have been going through hard times.I was married for 20 years of abuse and hurt.If it wasn’t for the Lord using Pastor Greg as a vessel, I don’t know what I would do. The Lord Jesus Christ has given me strength to go on with my life.I have been rewarded by the Lord, I have a new life now.So if a person thinks their is no hope, not true there is hope for the believer of Jesus. Thank you Jesus Christ for dieing on the Cross for my sins.

  14. Delvene McGovern says:

The Lord made a declaration to Abraham that he would bless him and multiply his descendants… and his descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. That word gate has a meaning of a space inside a gate i.e. marketplace. So what does it look like to possess what the Lord has promised?

  15. Tina E. says:

Thank you for being the Christian Soldier that you are.
